Half–Day Advanced Driving Course

Allocated Time: 4–Hours 1:1
Content: On–Road Advanced Driver Training
Vehicle: Customer Supplied Car
Introduction
The Half–Day Advanced Driving Course is to be completed by you with your own car and will provide the opportunity to experience a sound introduction to advanced driving methods. The programme content will open your eyes to whole different world of using your car on a public road.
The training you receive from Ride Drive is nothing like you would recognise as a driving lesson. This far more grown up than that, and works by carefully building on your existing knowledge and experience to give you a very effective all-round car driving skills package.
Delivered in what may seem like an atmosphere of a recreational event, the Ride Drive customer will discover new skills and exciting techniques that all help to create an ability to make safe progress on the road.

Format of the Course
The Half–Day Advanced Driving Course begins at a mutually agreed meeting point that will be close to your home area. You will already have spoken to your trainer to arrange this and so had an opportunity to discuss your desired aims and objectives.
By the time you meet, your trainer will already have put together the structure of an action plan and picked out some appropriate roads for you to drive upon.
After a short safety briefing, you will typically be asked to follow the directions given from the passenger seat whilst your coach will talk about the road upon which you are driving and identify features that may represent actual or potential danger.
You will be encouraged to drive proactively, which means countering actual or potential danger before a situation becomes a problem. |

The Half–Day Advanced Driving Course is available in almost all regions of the UK, including Newcastle, Hull, Southampton, Portsmouth, Glasgow. Click on the map above for full list. |
You don’t have to spend the full 4–hours driving, as there will be opportunity for you to stop, perhaps for a coffee, whilst chatting over the theory of the techniques you have begun to use. Seeing coasters used to assimilate vehicles going through various manoeuvres on a café table will live long in the memory.
Who Will be Suited to This Driving Course?
The amount of material covered within any training programme will always be limited by the amount of time allocated to its delivery. It must therefore be appreciated that not everything can be covered in one half–day. It is not meant to be either, as this course is an introduction to a safer and better–structured road driving system.
The half–day advanced driving course can also be used as refresher session, so you can top up your skills to make sure that you are running on all cylinders, just the same as your car. We have many customers who make a half–day return to Ride Drive every year, therefore making it an annual occasion. We even offer discounts for repeat sessions, so you have even more of a reason to keep coming back.
Half–Day or Full–Day? That is the Question
You may well find you have some difficulty in deciding between a half–day advanced driving course and a full–day. Well, instead of wrangling over the options, why not plump for a half–day to see if you like it and then come back in a couple of weeks for another half–day to make up the time of a Full–Day Advanced Driving Course? We’ll even let you do this at the same price as a full day. How’s that for flexibility?
However, you have to realise that having completed the first half–day, you will come back for the second one anyway. Nearly everyone does. It’s just one of those things of once you start on what turns out to be an adventure, you will find it difficult working out where you should stop.
Discount Car Insurance Scheme

The Ride Drive⁄Adrian Flux Special Car Insurance Discount Scheme does not apply to this driving course option.
