Format of the Course
The Class One Driving Course has a requirement to cover a minimum number of learning hours, which in practical terms translates into three days. Two of the days provide practical on–road driver training, with one date being set aside for theory-based training and both theory as well as practical testing.
Before the course begins, each candidate is provided with a course pre–read and manuals as a distance learning package and for reference purposes during the course itself. The cost of these items is included within the course fee.
On the final day of the course candidates will sit a multiple choice answer style in written examination, as well an oral test in knowledge of key components. A practical driving skills assessment will take place too and candidates need to achieve the required standard at each stage to be considered as passing the course.

Class One Driving Course – The Syllabus
The course syllabus covers essential driving skills components, such as The System of Car Control, which describes a process of making progress on the road by advanced observation leading to the identification and risk assessment of hazards incorporating the management of risk by use of an effective planning strategy.
There are many other topics that are covered too, but the great thing about the Class One Driving Course is that whilst it is required to cover established key elements, it remains flexible enough to be tailored to the specific needs of the individual.
Therefore, and available at additional cost, other elements can be introduced, such as car control sessions, as well as skid pan driver training.
The three training dates can either be completed consecutively, or as three individual dates if preferred. Administered in this way provides the customer with a flexible training package that can more easily fit around existing commitments.
