Hi Julian,

I really enjoyed myself on the driving day. The airfield section was particularly useful, as I didn’t realise just how easy it was to ‘lose’ a car when braking or accelerating during cornering. I now find that I rarely brake or accelerate during a corner, although I think the drivers in front of me could do with the course!

After the country roads part, I have found myself to be much more confident when travelling at speed. Though, I still haven’t completely mastered the ability to work out how sharp a corner will be! I am working on that one!

So, all in all, I definitely felt the day was worth the cost, especially as I was approaching the day with the idea that hopefully it would help me avoid an accident, then it would more than pay for itself. So far, this has been the case.

I would like to go back for half a day some point in July, so that I can continue where I left off, and also to keep my driving on the straight and narrow. This time though, I will probably opt for a half a day.

Lastly, I think my most memorable moment was when I coming up to a bend on a country road and Duncan was telling me to slow down, but I was saying, "no not yet surely." The irony of the situation dawned on me after the bend. Indeed, I should have braked sooner, but more to the point, it dawned on me that I was debating with someone who had decades of police driving experience, and thinking I knew a bit better!
